Being a Smarties Ambassador as been a ton of fun! Last week I made a fun craft that incorporated Smarties and this week I was challenged to come up with a fun baked good using Smarties! I decided that I would do a confetti type of cupcake using crushed up pieces of Smarties candies. I wasn’t sure how, or even if, it would turn out…
I just used a boxed white cake mix and followed the directions on the box. Then, I mixed in some crushed Smarties, poured the mix into cupcake cups and baked.
The results? SO delicious! The Smarties added the perfect combination of sweet and tart and the cake balanced it out soo well. I am surprised the cupcakes turned out so well, I’ve never baked with Smarties, but they were a huge hit with the family! I just love the fun confetti look to the cupcakes too. 
I used a variety of Smarties that I was sent. It was a HUGE box of Smarties (hello, awesome!) and we still have so many left over! Smarties is offering one lucky reader the chance to win a Saweeeeeet Smarties Prize Package!!

Not entering, but did you know that in Canada, if you want Smarties, you need to look for Rockets. In Canada (and probably elsewhere), Smarties are chocolate candies similar to M&M’s (but flatter & wider). Years after moving here, I still have to remind myself that Smarties no longer refer to one of my favorite treats to find in my Halloween candy (or the candy I used to give my students while they took tests–Smarties for my smarties).

I LOVE candy. And so does my husband. And we’re the only candy-eaters in the house because we don’t let our 2 year old have any unless it’s a reward for potty-training
