Even before getting pregnant, I had a list of items that I needed to get for baby #3. One of those items is the mamaRoo by 4moms. The mamaRoo is a luxurious cross between a swing, bouncy seat, and your arms. As 4moms says: We’ve never seen a parent vibrate
like a bouncy seat or swing like a swing. But we’ve seen thousands of parents scoop their little ones up in their arms and bounce and sway. And that’s what the mamaRoo does. It moves like you do.
So what’s the hype and why did I need a mamaRoo even before conceiving another baby?! Simple: I like saving money. While the price point of $239.99 (for the mamaRoo plush) may seem steep, it’s really not because the mamaRoo replaces a swing and bouncy seat. No need to spend the money on either of those when you have a mamaRoo as it does the job of both. And more. The mamaRoo has 5 unique settings: it bounces up and down and sways side to side just like parents do when comforting their baby.
My favorite feature on the mamaRoo is that, along with the five different motions, you are able to choose different speed options because we all know different babies have different preferences. I will be able to customize the speed to suit baby girl. The 4moms team did extensive research when it came to the settings and babies consistently love the mamaRoo and find it soothing.
Because babies aren’t a one size fits all deal, the mamaRoo is able to recline to any position on it’s axis. It can recline into a cradle position for the newborn stage all the way to a nearly sitting position for older babies.
DH’s favorite part of the mamaRoo is the port so that he can connect his iPhone and play music through the speakers. Yes, 4moms is even appealing to the techie dads! I plan on stocking my iPhone up with soothing music before baby comes for her to enjoy will hanging in the mamaRoo.
My goddaughter (6mos) really enjoyed the plush balls. They are black and white on one side for newborns and are colorful on the other to appeal to older babies. We have found that the mobile comes detached pretty easily and the plush toys balls don’t always stay put but that’s the only complaint. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the mamaRoo was to put together and how lightweight it is.
The mamaRoo is suitable from birth to 6 months or up to 25lbs and baby can sit up unassisted. It runs off of a power cord so there is NO running out of batteries at 3am!
The mamaRoo plush sells for $239.99 and is available in 8 colors and prints.
