Stokke Sleepi Review & Giveaway

It’s hip not to be square. The distinctive oval shape of the Stokke Sleepi crib cocoons baby with nest-like serenity using the sturdiest materials Mother Nature has to offer with functionality to expand as your child grows.

As with many Stokke products, the Sleepi grows with your baby. From mini crib to cot to junior bed, this is the only bed your child will need for several years to come. Not only is it made to grow with your child (via easy expansion kits) Stokke Sleepi is also built to last. Built with safety and stability in mind, the Sleepi is made from 100% cultivated beech wood and includes a lacquer finish which is 100% free from formaldehyde.

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to bring you this Stokke Sleepi review. I have been drooling and swooning over this crib for months and I couldn’t be happier with baby girls’ bed. Set up wasn’t too bad, with a few screws here and there, and was ready in under a half hour.

We put the crib together in the living room, which would have been a huge mistake had it been a standard rectangular crib because it wouldn’t have fit through our doorway and would’ve have been a pain to move.

The Stokke Sleepi breezes through doorways AND is on wheels for easy navigation and maneuverability.

Stokke Sleepi is perfect for a family like us with limited extra space. We prefer having our babies in our room which has meant a huge, clunky crib by our bedside. I was SO glad to take the old crib down and replace it with a petite, delicate crib.

And the best part? It’s oval. That means: no corners! I can’t tell you how many times I have bruised my legs in the middle of the night on the corners of Lucas’ crib. Ow!

It’s gorgeous, isn’t it?!

Did you know?

An infant will spend up to 70% of his or her time on the crib mattress, a toddler up to 50%. All Stokke mattresses are free of harmful chemicals including toxic flame retardants; our mattress options include organic selections with lamb’s wool or coir stuffing.

Dh really enjoyed the mattress and may be slightly jealous that our baby will sleep on such luxury. It’s firm yet cloud-like enough to be super comfortable.

You can purchase the Stokke Sleepi cot, in 4 different finishes, for $799 (mini and expansion kits are available at an additional cost) and the mattress for $199.

One super lucky Mama B reader is going to win a Stokke Sleepi cot and mattress! That’s a $1000 value!

(Ends May 21, 2012. Open to US/Canadian mailing addresses.)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

  1. Beautiful! We’re expecting baby #2 in September and are very limited on space in this home. Our previous crib was a drop down side rail crib, so obviously that’s out of the question. LOL

  2. Um… because it oval & convertible. And perfect.

  3. I love the look of this crib! Just beautiful…

  4. This crib is just lovely! Perfect blend of style & function. Thanks for offering the giveaway!

  5. Ok… I NEED this. No joke! We are moving this weekend and unfortunately that means we are down sizing. Not sure that is is possible for a family of 8 to ‘downsize’ – but we are. So that means that we will have Gracie’s crib/toddler bed in our room AND the new baby’s crib. I KNOW this is going to be super tight, but this is what we have to do… so this Stokke Sleepi would REALLLYYYY come in handy!!

  6. Because it’s beautiful and petite enough to fit in our small living space.

  7. I have always wanted the stokke crib. I love that if fits through the doorways so I can let my baby fall asleep in my bedroom and then move him to the living room for the night (the problems with living in a tiny apartment) I also really like that since the mattress can be lowered low to the ground and the bars are in a circular shape it’s harder for kids to climb out of

  8. I would like to win this because we dont have a crib for the new baby as of yet. (Katie Sexton)

  39. Our daughter is over a year old and her crib is still in the form of a pile of lumber in our hall. We spent the crib $$ on lumber (because my husband insisted he could complete the project by the time she was 6mo) instead of an awful Walmart crib, and while I haven’t minded too much that we became that hippie-ish, bed-sharing family, she intrudes on my sleep a lot more than my husband’s, and it’s made it difficult to wean her from nighttime nursing. Not to mention that I really miss all the snuggling & canoodling my husband and I would be doing if the baby were in her own bed. We want to keep her in our room, so this bed would be ideal–and let’s face it: it’s very possible that despite my husband’s best intentions, that pile of lumber will never become the crib we planned.

  40. It’s beautiful, it’s stylish and it’s the perfect size for our small place.

  41. Pameula Henson says:

My youngest daughter is having a baby in October. I am so excited. I would love to give her a gift this beautiful.

  42. I love the look!

  43. Looks like a great baby shower gift!

  44. Elisha P. says:

I love the modern look and we NEED a rib for our baby due in July!!

  45. Jenna Wood says:

Why wouldnt I want to win? I love the modern styles!

  46. I would love this for my daughter and husband. She has had her tiny son by her side since he was born WAY too early 5 months ago. They have a small bedroom and need to keep him by their side to monitor him. He was born at under 2 lbs and already quit breathing once. So, for any parent who has gone through this, they need to “hover” alot. This crib would be perfect for their small space they share and also are looking to even downsize more very soon. Having a tiny one like this and lost wages, travel costs, etc. have put them into financial catastrophe and they will need to give up their house. I am pretty sure an apartment will be even smaller. This crib is SO beautiful and I am thinking it would look equally gorgeous with some blues and greens for bedding? And the mattress being free of toxins and chemicals…for a baby with such health compromised, this is a GOD send! thanks for hosting a great Stokke product!

  47. Susie Allen says:

It beautiful and I love the oval shape and the size…..

  48. Vanessa Coker says:

I think it looks gorgeous and I’d love to have it for the next baby one day.

  49. Jennifer H says:

Oh how I would love a lil girl to sleep in this adorable bed!! We’re still contemplating baby #3, but this would certainly help for the “yes” side! :)

  50. SweetPanda says:

I would like to win because it will be perfect for our baby#3
