Extend rear-facing with the Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40! | Review & Giveaway

Many people are under the impression that once a child reaches a year old and 20 pounds, they are okay in a forward facing car seat when, in fact, little ones should stay rear-facing for as long as possible. Rear-facing is, without a doubt, the safest way for baby to ride in the car. The American Academy of Pediatrics has recently changed their car seat safety guidelines in favor of extended rear-facing – stating that baby should remain rear-facing until s/he is at least 2 years old. The APA states:

“…toddlers are more than five times safer riding rear facing in a car seat. They should stay rear facing until 2 years of age.”

In response to this change, and to encourage car seat safety, Graco has just launched their SnugRide Click Connect 40 Car Seat which is the only infant car seat suitable for newborns through 2 years of age (or 4-40 pounds).

I’m sure you’re wondering “But HOW?!” Simple: adjustable base and harnessThe adjustable base has eight recline positions that allows for comfort and leg room for baby as they grow. The headrest adjusts with one hand so that it is always at the best height for baby’s protection and the harnesses adjust easily with one hand, no re-threading required.

The car seat was a breeze to install and the base was, surprisingly, super easy to adjust. Although Sophia is little thing, I am a visual person so I just had to see just how much the seat could accommodate a bigger toddler.

The level indicator takes most of the guesswork out of the installation. As you can see, there is plenty of room for growth.

More great features include:

The SnugRide Click Connect 40 is designed to be the only car seat you’ll ever need. Now, carrying around a 35+ pound toddler doesn’t sound fun so the idea behind the SnugRide Click Connect 40 is that once baby is starting to get too heavy to carry around, the seat while be used like any other convertible car seat – it will stay in the car.

Also? It’s travel system friendly! The SnugRide Click Connect 40 will snap into any Graco Click Connect stroller.
