Teaching Gratitude and Caring

The holiday season is a time for giving but most importantly – a time for reflecting on all that we have to be thankful for. As Thanksgiving passes, and as awful as the month of November has been for me this year, I am reminded each day that I have so much to be thankful and grateful for. I have three amazing and beautiful children, we are healthy, and we are extremely fortunate to live a comfortable life.

It is important to me to instill in my children that random acts of kindess and giving without expecting anything in return is the real reason for the holiday season. While they are still young – I hope the lessons that I aim to teach them everyday stick out to them when they have families of their own. I want them to understand that while we have SO much to be thankful for, it is important to pay it forward all year round. It doesn’t matter how big or how small, the act of giving goes a long way.

This cold and flu season, why not give the gift of softness to friends and family. With the help of Kleenex – I can teach my children that giving goes a long way with the simple act of sharing a tissue or sending a Kleenex care pack to someone who needs a little extra cheering up. When you buy specially marked bundles of Kleenex® Brand tissues, you will find a code to send a share pack. The Softness Worth Sharing initiative allows you to use the code to share a Kleenex® Brand Care Pack with your loved ones. Visit Kleenex.com to send a care pack of goodies to help take care of others during the upcoming cold and flu season.

How do you teach your kids the importance of being grateful?

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in an ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of the Kleenex brand and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
