Because we recently moved to Michigan, we’ve had a laundry list of things to take care of, which include enrolling Adam in a new school and finding the kids a new pediatrician. We accomplished the first task right away but the latter is proving to be a bit more difficult. Finding a pediatrician is not a task to take lightly so I’ve been interviewing doctors before committing.
While Adams lack of pediatrician posed an issue when it came to getting his yearly school physical, this worry was quickly put to rest when I was visiting Washington, D.C. and discovered the $39 school physicals offered at Walgreens Healthcare Clinic. And the best part? Adam not having a primary doctor was a non-issue!
The Healthcare Clinic is super convenient, especially to someone like us who is in between doctors. They are capable of seeing patients for a variety of reasons, from prevention and wellness to treatment and management. The Healthcare Clinics, located in participating Walgreens stores, even have non-typical doctor office hours. They are even open on Sundays, because kids DO get sick on weekends
Adams’ physical took no time at all and the nurse practitioner covered everything you would expect in a typical physical: eyes, ears, nose, throat, etc. I was very impressed with the care and personal attention we received (which is hard to come by in a doctors office) and the staff really went above in beyond in all areas, from scheduling, to helping us locate and fill out the proper form, to the physical itself.
And for $39, you can’t beat it!
If your child needs a school physical, hurry to a Walgreens #HealthcareClinic near you! The $39 school and sport physical special only lasts until 9/30, then they go back up to $60.
